Hair is simply the protein substance known as keratin mainly noticed on the human head. We very ardently care our hair but hardly know that it is the dead matter in fact. The actual living portion of our hair is beneath the scalp surface and is usually called the follicle that supplies the dead cells for keeping our curls flowing. The hair gets oily look due to excessive sebum activity, but lack of sebum function could give adverse effect like making hair dry and lifeless. The blood circulating around hair follicle enables the great looking hair in the healthy body. Anemia or lesser blood counts may affect the hair; hence, the unhealthy body is first reflected in unhealthy hair.

Hair loss or untimely baldness in the modern world is one of the most common problems nowadays. The best way of fighting or preventing such hair loss or baldness is the use of natural herbs for hair. Herbs like aloe, nettles, stinging nettle and birch leaves are considered as the most excellent blood as well as skin cleaners. They also stimulate hair growth. Even horsetail is believed to be the ideal source of silica which helps keeping the hair strong and shiny. Some other herbs like arnica, marigold, rosemary and/or southern woods are also found to be effective in preventing hair loss or baldness.

The Herbs

There are lots of natural herbs for hair available or in fact being used since hundreds of years by the different countries all over the world. The list of regularly used herbs includes Aloe, Arnica, Birch, Burdock, Catmint, Chamomile, Horsetail, Licorice, Marigold, Nettles, Parsley, Rosemary, Sage, Southernwood, Stinging nettle, Psoralea seeds, Mulberries and Oyster. However, this list does not cover the complete list of herbs for hair treatment. Hundreds of different herbs are being used singly or in various combinations, collectively such herbs have varieties of fantastic properties. Such herbs usually soothe or stimulate, dry or even moisten, and/or tighten or ease the hair growth. In some cases these herbs are also used for healing, alleviating pains, dispel gas or even cleanse and purify the blood also.

Soy is also equally important in preventing the hair loss. When soy is digested in the stomach, it stops a hormone that fuels the prostate growth which causes baldness. As revealed in the journal, Biology of Reproduction, Japanese men who eat more soy seldom have prostate cancer. The male hormone DHT - a by-product of testosterone, has also been implicated in research into the causes of male pattern baldness. Licorice extracts may also help prevent the hair loss. Even Parsley when used as tea, strengthens the kidneys, and the tea made from raspberry or blackberry leaves is also considered good for kidneys. Horsetail is the good source of silica which helps to keep hair strong and giving it shiny and sleek looks. Scalp should be regularly massaged with tinctures of stinging nettle, birch, horsetail and rosemary for better hair growth stimulation, for disinfecting the scalp as well as for enhancing the blood circulations.

"It is not a comment,... its a question. How to take a aloe for a healthy hair. It should be taken as a food or should be applied?"
