Noel given police guard? - Nov 28 2007
Noel Gallagher has reportedly been given a police guard whilst Oasis are recording at the Abbey Road Studios - after he was threatened by a stalker.

The band are busy recording their seventh album at the world famous studios - and last week a Greek fan arrived there demanding to speak to Noel about song lyrics he claimed the rocker had stolen, reports The Sun.

Apparently police were called but the man left before they arrived.

"The guy showed up in a proper rage," a source told the paper. "He meant business and was clearly off his rocker.

"He claimed that he had written all this material that Noel had nicked off him for the new album.

"The fella was fuming and was threatening to beat Noel up over it all. He was cursing at staff and being really threatening so the cops were called in.

"He tried to force his way into the studio but couldn't get through. He heard the police were coming and turned on his heels. By the time the bobbies got down there he had gone."

Oasis have since strengthened security at the studio for the rest of the album's recording.

Noel ’nodded’ through birth - Sept 26 2007
Noel Gallagher has apparently revealed how he got through the birth of his new son - by nodding.

The Oasis songwriter talked through the details of baby Donovan’s birth with DJ Chris Moyles on Radio 1’s breakfast show, reports The Sun.

Noel said: "I was in my leather jacket, nodding ’You’ll be all right - just get it out before Soccer AM finishes’. I think the worst thing is that you don’t have any specific role. You just stand there and nod."

The star’s girlfriend Sara MacDonald gave birth to Donovan on Saturday at London’s private Portland hospital.

Noel added: "It was all right for me but my missus was giving me stick afterwards, saying. ’You never took your jacket off all the way through!’"

Noel, who has a seven-year-old daughter Anais by ex Meg Mathews, added: "The baby’s called Donovan. Sounds like a man who means business."

And when Chris congratulated him on the birth, he joked: "What? For being third in the league?" - referring to Manchester City’s recent success under Sven Goran Eriksson.

Noel’s son ’a legend’ - Sept 24 2007
Noel Gallagher has already labelled his son a legend, only hours after baby Donovan was born.

The Oasis songwriter sent friends a text message on Saturday announcing the arrival of the latest member of his clan, reports The Sun.

Noel apparently wrote: "He shall go by the name of Donovan Rory MacDonald Gallagher and he will be a legend. Give thanks and praise."

But it could all have been very different if Noel’s partner Sara McDonald had let him name their baby after Manchester City manager Sven Goran Eriksson.

A friend told the paper: "During the pregnancy, Noel was calling the bump Little Sven. He said he wanted to name the lad after the City boss. Luckily, he’s ended up as Donovan."

Sara reportedly gave birth at 11.15am on Saturday at London’s Portland Hospital after a seven-hour labour.

Donovan is Sara’s first baby, but the second child for Noel, who has a seven-year-old daughter Anais with ex-wife Meg Mathews.
