Sarah’s support - May 04
Sarah Cox has been told off by BBC bosses for breaking rules on impartiality.

Coxy voiced her support for US Presidential candidate John Kerry during her drivetime show last month but was pulled up by the powers that be who say that the BBC should be impartial in these types of affairs. The DJ has not commented on the issue but we’re sure she took it with her usual good humour.

Chris who? - 09/12/03
Sara Cox got a bit confused between Chris Evans and Chris Moyles when she asked who was taking over her Radio One breakfast show…

Of course it is Chris Moyles, the afternoon DJ that has been dying to get his hands on her morning show for as long as anyone can remember. However, Sara is pleased with the move.

She said "F***ing hell - it's what he wants. I was pleased. Because it's a chance for him to put his money where his f***ing mouth is - he's been after it for so long. For the record, I think he will do a good job."

Coxy's dropped! - 13/10/03
Camden gal Sara Cox has been dropped like a bad apple from her Radio One Breakfast Show…

She is due to be replaced by Chris Moyles in January, three months before her contract for the morning show is to officially end. Sara has been criticized for losing listeners during her three and a half year reign on Breakfast, and will be swapped to take over Chris's afternoon show. However, Sara is undaunted and has only commented that she will be glad of the lie in her new role will bring her!

Meanwhile ever chivalrous Chris has said he could do a better job - 'I could absolutely kick anybody's arse on breakfast, ever.' He went on to say he barely listened to Sara's show, preferring to watch Channel 4's Ri:se.

Coxy's victory! - 09/06/03
Sara Cox has won a press privacy court victory, when she sued the People magazine for publishing photographs of her naked on her honeymoon…

The radio one DJ and her new hubby Jon Carter were honeymooning nude on a private Seychelles island, when they were snapped by a pap. Sara initially received a printed apology, but went on to sue the newspaper in the High Court.

She has now been awarded £30,000 damages and Jon has been awarded £20,000. This case could now be held up as an example with more people seeking to take action through the courts.

Coxy to voice new Rolo ad - 23/04/03
Kentish Town lass Sara Cox is to provide the voice for a new Rolo advert…

Nestle has scrapped its long-running slogan "Do you love anyone enough to give them your last Rolo?"

It will now be replaced by a new cartoon, which will feature a female office worker flashing her underwear for a dare.

Sara Cox is to provide the voice for a new Rolo advert which shows a female office worker flashing her knickers.

A costly ride home - 03/12/02
Sara Cox the Radio 1 Breakfast DJ decided to hail a cab home to Kentish Town from the Top Of The Pops Awards in Manchester when her train was cancelled.

Big deal you might ask, but she obviously has more money then she know what to do with since the fare cost a whopping £358. A return flight only costs £200, wonder if anyone told her that.

Sara Cox faced Watchdog investigation - 28/11/02
Sara Cox has been investigated by broadcasting watchdogs after accidentally playing a cocaine-snorting sequence on a record by Eminem.

The sound effect is featured at the beginning of the track My Dad's Gone Crazy, from his latest album The Eminem Show.

Afterwards his daughter Hailie can be heard saying: "Daddy, what are you doing?"

The Broadcasting Standards Commission launched an investigation after a breakfast show listener complained about the incident in May.

They decided to take no further action after Radio 1 bosses said they had spotted the gaffe and edited the sound effect out of further plays.

Coxy's sweetener - 29/08/02

Regardless of the fact that she has lost Radio 1 nearly a million listeners, her bosses believe in her, and she's just signed a new £1 million deal to host the Radio One breakfast show for another three years.

She only signed on the dotted line after assuring her bosses that she had no immediate plans to start a family with hubby DJ Jon Carter.

Coxie loses a million - 02/08/02
Bad news for Coxie, her Radio 1 Breakfast show has lost nearly a million listeners. Sara Cox managed to swell the audience she inherited from her pal Zoe Ball each quarter. Not any more, figures released today by research company Rajar (Radio Joint Audience Research Ltd) show it went down from 7.8 million to 6.9 million in 12 months.

A spokesman for the station - which targets 15 to 24 year-olds - said: "During the World Cup there were lots of matches on when Sara was on air. But she still has the biggest youth show in Europe." Three months ago Terry Wogan's Radio 2 overtook Cox's for the first time to give him the biggest breakfast show in the UK.

Naked anger - 16/10/01

This picture of Sara Cox's naked knee is printed here to show how low some sections of the press will stoop. Kentish Town residents Sara Cox and husband Jon Carter are reportedly planning to sue the Sunday People after the newspaper published nude photos of Sara taken while the loving couple were on their Seychelles honeymoon.

Sara's manager Melanie Coupland, said she was appalled by this violation of her client's privacy and expressed scorn at the People's claim that the snaps had been taken by a holidaymaker rather than a paparazzi

After a quick look at the photos, one top gossip journalist said: "I'm not surprised she's suing. If I was as skinny as Sara, I wouldn't want anyone to see me with my kit off either." Miaow!

Unfortunately, as a family website, Myvillage is not in a position to print the nude photos. Not to mention the fact that we can't afford to be sued.

Coxy's Match Of The Day - 06/10/01
DJ Sara Cox of Kentish Town and her new husband Jon Carter laid on a special room at their Irish wedding so that her 150 guests could watch the crucial England match against Greece.

The couple were married last Thursday at a north London registry office before jetting off to Ireland for the reception. DJs at the bash included Coxy's best mate Zoe Ball's hubby Fatboy Slim and the Chemical Brothers. Can't get better than that.

Biography
Born in Bolton, Kentish Town resident Sara Cox left school at 18 and decided to pursue a career in modelling. It was while modelling that Cahnnel 4's Dave Stevenson spotted her and shot her to fame as a Girlie Show presenter.

Coxy, as her friends wittily call her, went on to present many high profile shows including The Big Breakfast, Channel 5's Exclusive and shows on MTV.

Sara is now presenting Radio 1's Breakfast Show after taking over from her best pal Zoe Ball. Sara lives with her dog Snoop, named after hip-hop legend Snoop Doggy Dog.
