Brian and Amanda in sofa love-in - Aug 23 2007
It became spicier in the Big Brother house as Brian finally uttered those three little words to Amanda before the housemates launched into a series of controversial drinking games.
Brian and Amanda were on the sofa in the bathroom when he finally said: "I love you."

Earlier, the pair were on the sofa in the bathroom. Their conversation began with an argument over how to pronounce the word irritable.

"You speak more slowly than I do," said Brian.

"Wow," said Amanda, "No-one's ever said that. Everyone says I speak way too fast."

"Irr-it-able," said Brian trying to slow down his pronunciation. "Irr-it-a-bull."

"Give me a cuddle," said Brian. Amanda obliged and this prompted Brain to speak the magic words.

"I love you," he said. "You're a good girl, you are."

Amanda smiled and then moved the conversation on.

But BB didn't allow the hot atmosphere to cool down and the contestants were later plied with alcohol and told to play some games.

Reading the instructions to her housemates, Tracey said: "We gotta play Kiss, Marry or Evict, Truth or Dare or Have You Ever... Which one d'you wanna play first?"

They opted for Kiss, Marry or Evict - where each player has to ask the housemate next to them who they'd like to kiss, marry and evict.

Kara-Louise was quick to say: "I'd have to marry Tracey..."

"Get in!" Tracey grinned.

"... Kiss Brian and 'bye bye' twins," Kara-Louise concluded.

Speaking as one, the twins decided to "kiss Carole, marry Liam and evict Jonty".

Trio face BB eviction vote - Aug 22 2007
Three housemates have woken up to an uncertain future after learning they faced the public vote to avoid eviction from the Big Brother house.

Kara-Louise, Jonty and Tracey are at the mercy of voting viewers after the latest round of nominations.

They will learn their fate on Friday evening, with only one able to stay for the show’s final week.

The two departures will leave seven housemates - or six if twins Sam and Amanda are counted as one person - slugging it out to win the show.

Student Kara-Louise received five nominations from fellow housemates, museum assistant Jonty got four while cleaner Tracey got three.

It is the fifth time Tracey has been up for eviction, the fourth time for Kara-Louise and the third for Jonty.

On hearing the news, Kara-Louise giggled nervously while Jonty sat stony-faced.

Tracey sighed, shook her head and said: "Five times."

Kara-Louise was nominated by Amanda and Sam, Brian, Liam, Ziggy and Tracey.

Jonty was put up by Amanda and Sam, Brian, Liam and Tracey, while Tracey was nominated by Carole, Ziggy and Kara-Louise.

Ziggy loses it after food punishment - Aug 16 2007
The bleak prospect of facing another week on basic rations in the Big Brother house has proved too much for Ziggy.

The former boyband star made his feelings clear in a Diary Room rant after the luxury food budget was taken away as a punishment for eating a packet of biscuits that had been stashed in the house.

The chocolate digestives were consumed by the hungry group earlier in the day, despite having been instructed to return all food to Big Brother last Thursday.

Carole was given the "devastating" news shortly after dinner.

Having been called to the diary room, she was told: "Today you left the living room, entered the bedroom, and returned to the living area with a packet of chocolate digestives."

The 53-year-old Londoner confessed.

She said: "Well they were hidden ages and ages ago, at the back where Nicky had had the pepper sauce.

She added: "I could have left them and waited until our shopping came and put them with that. But I didn’t. So that’s that."

But Big Brother was having no excuses and took away the luxury grocery budget the housemates had won in this week’s task as punishment.

Former boyband pin-up Ziggy took the news badly.

Storming into the diary room, he ranted: "I’ll be honest. My time here is going to be limited. I know you don’t give a s***. I haven’t eaten. I’m a lad. I need to eat. I don’t understand all this p***ing around with food."

Twins Safe From Eviction - Aug 14 2007
Twins Sam and Amanda won immunity from this week’s Big Brother eviction by winning an assault course task.

Housemates had to complete the course, then train to improve their strength and agility, before tackling the course for a second time.  Sam and Amanda - who are now classed as a single housemate - cut their time by 46% and gained immunity from this week’s eviction vote, becoming "body gurus".

Ziggy, who had earlier won the mind task, is also immune from eviction this week.

Despite the twins’ success, the housemates failed to cut their overall course time by 10% after the extra training and will now be limited to basic rations this week.

Gerry, who skipped the assault course due to injury, spent the day healing auras and later made predictions of romance for Tracey.  "I’m in a flat," said Gerry dreamily, "the guy is relaxed. He’s a dude. "He’s got a very tidy flat and there’s food in the fridge," Gerry continued. "He’s got a table with nice stuff. He likes his guitar. He lives alone..."

"Not for long," laughed Tracey.

Gerry added: "He’s a bit unshaved. He’s got longish hair, quite dark. He’s quite hairy - his chest is quite hairy...." "We can whip that off," said Tracey.

Twins Fight Eviction - Aug 10 2007
Big Brother twins Sam and Amanda are hoping to avoid being booted out of the show in an eviction showdown with halfway housemates Amy, Jonty and Kara-Louise.

If they manage to stay, the pair will be treated as one person for the rest of the reality programme and have the right to nominate, be evicted and win together.

They were told earlier this week that they could choose whether they were treated separately or together but that, whatever happened, one or both of them would face eviction.

The girly twins, 19, from Newcastle-under-Lyme, predictably chose to stick together, which means they are now battling with new additions to the house Amy, Jonty and Kara-Louise to stay.

Jonty has been jovial about facing the axe, after acknowledging that the "halfwayers", who have only recently joined the main house, were always at a disadvantage.  Talking to Gerry, he said: "I think the perception is that it would be unfair for any of us to get anywhere near the last night, not having been there all those other weeks."

Art historian Gerry succinctly gave his overview of how tonight’s showdown could play out; "They might vote you [out] because you’re annoying. They might vote Kara out because she lost her faith - this is all hypothetical.

"They might vote Amy out because she’s a glamour model. Everyone has many negatives here."

Housemates cheesed off - Aug 9 2007
The Big Brother housemates were called into the living area this afternoon to discover giant piles of cheese on the table.

"It stinks!" squealed Amanda, holding her nose.

Tracey returned from the Diary Room with the instructions and explained that for today’s task, BB was conducting a "scientific experiment" to see whether eating cheese before going to sleep causes dreams.

"It includes vegan and vegetarian cheese," announced the raver.

"Whilst housemates are sleeping Big Brother will create a dream scene in the garden - housemates must try to focus their minds on the dream scene as they go to sleep."

"Can we just clarify which the vegetarian cheeses are?" grumbled Carole.

"I’m assuming that soft cheese will be vegetarian, it usually is. And the Dutch one," said Jonty.

The contestants all have to wear special ’cheese helmets’ for the task.

Dopey Brian struggled with the clasp on his helmet, which had an eye mask hanging off. He ended up wearing the eye mask over his mouth.

The gang soon began to tuck into the cheese, with pink-haired Tracey attacking some holey Swiss cheese with particular relish.

"Can we have it with things, like crackers or something?" asked Jonty.

Let’s hope they all have sweet dreams this afternoon.

Chanelle to go back to BB house? - Aug 8 2007
Chanelle Hayes is reportedly set to return to the Big Brother house.

The blonde walked out of the Channel 4 programme last week after splitting with her in-house boyfriend Ziggy.

Now TV execs are planning to send her back in to give the former boyband member a shock, reports the Daily Star.

Fans have flooded internet forums saying that the Wakefield student should return.

The idea follows last year’s show, in which Nikki went back to the house to be reunited with Pete Bennett, who eventually won the show.

A source said: "There was a big problem sending Nikki back because people had spent money trying to get her out. But Chanelle quit so the public never had a chance to evict her."

Since her exit, Chanelle has slammed Ziggy.

She declared: "He doesn’t care for me. I don’t think he ever did. I thought the relationship was genuine."

A spokesperson said: "Big Brother always loves to hear from BB fans about the show however Big Brother cannot confirm any future plan for housemates."

BB house braced for eviction night - Aug 3 2007
The Big Brother house is set for more upheaval and tears as the housemates prepare for a double eviction.

In a cruel twist, halfway housemates Amy, Jonty, Liam and Ziggy were given full housemate status but then had to choose four others to replace them.

They chose the three original halfway housemates left in the house - David, Kara-Louise and Shanessa - and Tracey, all of whom face the public vote in tonight’s double eviction.

The situation threatened to turn nasty when the four, who had successfully earned £300 for the housemates, learnt they would be allowed back into the house for a few hours.

But they were less than thrilled at realising it would mean meeting up again with Jonty and Amy.

"I won’t be a hypocrite. I’ll speak my mind to Amy," Shanessa said, before demanding David lend his loyalty.

David promised: "I’ll say ’I’m shocked you didn’t give us a second thought. If you’re hungry for that, best of luck and I hope you choke on it!’"

He then backtracked, adding: "I just want to see the people I like. Spend the time there wisely, not spend it fighting."

Later, Shanessa and Kara-Louise asked Jonty: "Why would you vote for people you live with. We should all stick together."

"We only had two minutes to decide," he protested.

After more than an hour ignoring each other, Amy and Shanessa broke their silence with an emotional chat over a slice of cake.

Liam joins the halfway crowd - Aug 1 2007
The male population of the Big Brother house has dwindled again as Liam was chosen to join Ziggy in the halfway house.

Both Big Brother favourites may now be up for eviction at the end of the week.

New contestant Shanessa won the jack-in-the-box task to earn a place in the main house and picked Liam to leave.

She explained her decision to expel the 23-year-old tree surgeon: "He was nice to me and all that, but we didn’t gel. He’s a lovely man and Amy really, really likes him, and apparently he likes Amy, and Ziggy’s really fond of Liam."

The contestants had earlier been told that the halfway housemates would face the public eviction vote from Thursday.

A spokeswoman from Big Brother said: "Liam and Ziggy could potentially be out on Friday."

It is not yet clear how this week’s public vote will be organised.

Shanessa, 27, is the latest halfway house member to cross over to the main house after David and Kara-Louise.

The single mother from Cardiff was mortified to learn that Liam and the other housemates had seen her make her decision.

But she soothed the affable Liam by suggesting that halfway housemate Amy was keen to spend more time with him.

"Amy really likes you," she told him.

"She’s got good taste, hasn’t she?" Liam joked.

Shanessa added: "It’ll make her day when she sees you!"

Ziggy had volunteered to leave the main house after his tumultuous relationship with Chanelle ended and she left the show.

Halfway housemates to face public vote - July 31 2007
The halfway housemates will face the public vote - from Thursday.

Contestants in both Big Brother houses were ordered to their living areas this afternoon and were told they "must listen very, very carefully".

Big Brother explained that during the next two days the halfway housemates would have two more opportunities to move into the main house and the other housemates may move "backwards" to halfway.

"In two days time, everyone living in the halfway house will face the public vote. Nobody’s decision is safe," boomed the powers-that-be across the loud speakers.

"I don’t get it, so what’s happening?" asked one of the dippy twins.

Carole explained what BB had just told them.

Meanwhile in halfway, the inmates were getting confused and wanted to ring Big Brother on their special phone. Ziggy looked particularly annoyed.

"It would be really useful if we could go into the Diary Room," Amy said.

"We are all guaranteed at least two more days in here," Jonty reassured the others. "This has been the first time we know we are not all going home for sure.

"Nobody’s safe are they?" Carole mused, over the fence.

Ziggy moves into ’halfway house’ - July 31 2007
Big Brother’s Ziggy will wake up in unfamiliar surroundings today following a day in which ex-flame Chanelle Hayes walked from the show and housemates voted him into the "halfway house".

The former boyband heartthrob volunteered himself for a move next door, swapping place with new entrants 22-year-old student Kara-Louise and store manager David, 25.

In a day of high tension yesterday, Posh Spice wannabe Chanelle exited the show following a blazing row with Ziggy in which the BB pair exchanged expletive laden insults.

Numbers in the main house were quickly made up in the shape of the two new full housemates, who now stand a chance of winning the £100,000 prize.

Kara-Louise and David were selected from the five halfway hopefuls by the existing members of the BB house.

But in an unexpected twist, housemates were then forced to select one of their own to enter the halfway house in exchange for the two new members.

Before they had a chance to vote, Ziggy put himself forward. "I wouldn’t mind a bit of time, I’ll do it. Seriously, it can’t get madder than this," he said.

The entire group them chose Ziggy, apart from the man himself, who put forward fellow housemate Liam McGough.

Referring to the day of drama in the diary room, the former pop singer and model said: "I feel s*** today. but I feel with someone leaving, someone who I will miss a lot, then if this puts me up for nominations then so be it. It levels things out a little."

Chanelle leaves Big Brother - July 30 2007
Channel 4 have confirmed that Chanelle has left the Big Brother house.

The move follows days of deliberation, during which the Posh wannabe actually left the house, only to return minutes later.

Chanelle left a note for the housemates, which read "Sam, Mand, Brian, good luck, luv you, see you soon, Chan". She then took her suitcase into the diary room, without saying goodbye.

She was in the diary room for around half an hour when the door flashed from red to green and the housemates realised she was no longer in there.

Chanelle has had a string of rows with fellow housemate Ziggy over their on-off relationship.

The former boybander said he questioned their relationship "every day", adding: "It’s your character. You like the attention. You’re way over the top, a hypochondriac, you crave attention, not just from me, from everyone."

He added: "On a daily basis I’m depressed in here. And I’m afraid to say it has something to do with us. And it’s not you, it’s me and that’s it."

Stunned Chanelle shrieked: "Oh my God, you just said, ’It’s not you, it’s me’ on national TV. Oh my God, how embarrassing is that?"

"She couldn’t live with Ziggy, but she couldn’t live without him. I think she was quite jealous," mused Carole, wisely.

"Both of them have been getting more and more unhappy and lonely."

Chanelle keeps housemates guessing - July 29 2007
Big Brother housemates are on tenterhooks waiting to find out whether one of their number would be leaving the house.

In a day of high drama Victoria Beckham fan Chanelle Hayes announced she wanted to leave the show and packed her bags ready for departure.

But after speaking to the show’s psychologists she decided to sleep on it and make a final decision in the morning.

The 19-year-old student from Wakefield, who has been in an on-off relationship with Ziggy during their time in the house, said she wanted to leave the Channel 4 show because she was not happy.

Her threats to leave came after Ziggy ended the relationship in the early hours of this morning telling her: "It’s not you, it’s me."

At first the lovebirds were tolerated by their fellow housemates but soon their trysts began to grate on everyone else’s nerves.

Her threats to walk come a day after the pair had yet another "make or break" chat, which ended with Chanelle declaring: "Obviously you’re not happy, so don’t talk to me again."

Meanwhile the Posh Spice wannabe was announcing her decision to leave to the rest of the housemates declaring through her tears: "I’m going home. I want to go home."

After bidding an emotional farewell Chanelle finally left the house but returned moments later after being told she had to talk to the show’s psychologists first.

Housemates and viewers have been left waiting and wondering whether Chanelle will go through with her threats to walk or whether the prospect of leaving Ziggy behind will ultimately persuade her to stay.

Unhappy Chanelle to leave BB house - July 29 2007
Victoria Beckham fan Chanelle Hayes has become the latest contestant to walk out of the Big Brother house.

The 19-year-old student from Wakefield, left the Channel 4 show after saying she was "not happy".

Her departure comes after Ziggy, with whom she had been having an on/off romance, ended the relationship.

In the early hours of this morning the former boyband member split up with Chanelle telling her: "It’s not you, it’s me."

Chanelle, who wants to be a professional Victoria Beckham look-a-like, left the house saying: "It’s not a goodbye, it’s a see you later."

So far the couple’s tempestuous relationship has dominated the show and drawn criticism from other contestants.

The 26-year-old ex model and the Posh Spice wannabe got together within days of him entering the house.

At first the lovebirds were tolerated by their fellow housemates but soon their trysts began to grate on everyone else’s nerves.

Chanelle announced her decision to the rest of the housemates, declaring through her tears: "I’m going home. I want to go home."

However all hope may not be lost as Chanelle was later called back to see the show’s psychologists with Channel 4’s website hinting that she may change her mind and return to the house.

Five newcomers join BB’s Halfway House - July 29 2007
A man who practises witchcraft, the former leader of a Doctor Who society, a teetotal glamour model, a posh student who has a problem with "common people", and a part-time care assistant have joined the Big Brother experience.

The five entered a new ’Halfway House’ - a residence with basic furnishings, including five single beds, a shower and yard - in a special extended live show.

Over the next two days, they will spend some time in the real house before two of them swap places with existing housemates on Monday. Then everyone in the Halfway House will battle it out to join the main house for good.

The five newcomers are David Parnaby, 25, a High Street store manager from Ayr, Scotland; Shanessa Reilly, 27, a part-time care assistant from Cardiff; Kara-Louise Horne, 22, a student from Harrow, north London; Jonty Stern, 36, a museum visitor assistant from London, and Amy Alexandra, 21, a glamour model from Lincolnshire.

As they entered their sparse new home, the original housemates rushed to the Halfway House door and shouted ’hello!’.

The old-timers watched on the big screen as David was told in the Diary Room that he would be the first of the new contestants to visit the normal abode.

The twins, Chanelle and then the rest of the regular contestants gave him a warm welcome as he emerged into the main house - but for how long?

Charley gets BB boot - July 28 2007
Charley has finally been voted out of the Big Brother house for real.

The sixth contestant to be evicted from the show, the 22-year-old Londoner looked both relieved and disappointed as the news sank in.

As the other inmates started to gather around her for hugs and kisses, she exclaimed: "Did you hear them boos?"

The crowd started shouting "Get Charley out!" early this evening, and even the hard-nosed It girl seemed surprised by how venomous they sounded.

Meanwhile Tracey, who’s name earned a mixture of boos and cheers from the crowd, survived the public vote to fight another day.

Before the lines closed, Liam asked Charley: "Are you nervous?"

"I’m excited to go but at the same time nervous," she replied.

Although Charley put on a brave face as she prepared for her exit, it was clear she was smarting from the noise coming from outside the house.

The question is: how will the housemates cope without their most volatile resident?

First ’halfway housemate’ visits BB - July 29 2007
The first of five potential housemates got the chance to spend some time in the main Big Brother house in the hope of being asked to move in permanently.

David Parnaby, a 25-year-old store manager from Ayr, was the first of the halfway housemates to enter the real house in an attempt to persuade the existing ones to let him stay.

Over the weekend each of the newcomers will get the chance to spend some time in the house in an attempt to become fully-fledged housemates.

On Monday the existing housemates will pick the two halfway housemates they like best to join them on a permanent basis. The kilt-wearing Scotsman, who practises witchcraft, was the first of the recent arrivals through the door - and appeared to go down a storm.

Gerry was particularly taken with David, revealing to Carole that he had "stole my heart already".

When his time was up David went back to his halfway housemates - but not before he gave the low-down on the existing ones.

Speaking to Big Brother in the Diary Room David revealed that he thought Carole was the "mother of the house". "Tracey is like the older sister who’s never grown up; I like her," he said.

Ziggy and Liam were "fantastic guys" he said adding: "Gerry is so open, that’s a good thing. Chanelle is a good looking girl, sweet."

However not everyone got rave reviews. David confessed he found excitable twins Sam and Amanda "just too much for me". "I like a bit of cynicism," he said. And Brian was "a male version of the twins", he said.

Next up was glamour model Amy who told the housemates she reckons she already has a halfway house nemesis in Shanessa.

Housemates have food for thought - July 26 2007
It was smiles all round after an emotional few days in the Big Brother house as the housemates discovered they had passed their latest task.

The group will now enjoy a week living the high life on a luxury food budget after the result was announced on the final edition of BBTV news.

But the housemates will be in for a shock tomorrow when six new contestants enter the show.

Only some of the newcomers will have the chance to become fully-fledged housemates, but Big Brother is yet to reveal exactly how many and how they will be chosen.

Taking her turn as newsreader, Tracey said: "And finally some news just in from the Big Brother House. This week the housemates took part in a shopping task working for BBTV.

"They passed," she whooped, "and will receive a luxury shopping budget. Get in!"

Co-host Brian added: "That’s well phat."

In last night’s bulletin Carole and Tracey were the latest housemates to receive a message from home, as well as being informed about model Jordan’s naming of her new baby and a world-record breaking eating attempt.

Yesterday’s other big news was that housemates can still scoop a £100,000 prize if they win Big Brother.

Earlier in the series they chose Liam to receive £100,000, believing there would be no cash prize at the end of the show.

Ziggy only has eyes for new housemate - July 24 2007
It was enough to make Chanelle go green with envy when a new housemate entered the Big Brother fray and immediately captured Ziggy’s heart.

The Daily Star had ominously reported that there was be a new housemate, with "bite worse than Charley", entering the house.

The new member of the house was Ziggy’s favourite girl in the world, his pet dog Molly. The 26-year-old’s pet joined the house to take part in an obstacle course as part of the week’s shopping task.

The Shar Pei and her owner were contestants in a special show called One Man And Ziggy’s Dog, in which they had to face a seesaw, a cone slalom, a series of jumps and a big climatic jump.

Molly had her own unique approach to taking on the obstacles, but with Ziggy and Liam’s help she reached the final podium to the cheers of housemates.

After being reunited with his beloved pet, Ziggy told the dog: "You don’t know what you’ve just done to me, but you’ve done something very big.

He then told Liam, who was presenting the show: "That’s something else, I never thought they’d do anything like that. I don’t deserve that... that was pretty amazing for me."

BB housemates to run own TV channel - July 22 2007
Dreams by the Big Brother contestants of becoming TV celebrities have materialised sooner then expected after the housemates were set the task of running their own TV channel

The reality show buddies will have to become newsreaders, presenters, actors and contestants and produce entertaining shows if they are to earn a luxury, not basic, shopping budget.

Each day housemates will be required to make a topical news bulletin, promotional TV advert and programme from the BBTV studios.

If housemates incur three or more fails throughout the duration of the task, they will receive a basic shopping budget.

The first show on BBTV will be The Very Very Very...Housemate Survey Quiz which will see two teams of contestants battling against each other.

When told their task team leader Liam picked Brian, Amanda, Tracey and Ziggy for his panel while his opposite number Gerry selected Charley, Sam, Chanelle and Carole.

When called to the BBTV studio the teams will have to answer questions based on a survey of 50 members of the Big Brother eviction audience who were questioned about the housemates.

Harry Potter fan Liam, who turned 23 on Friday, has been granted a birthday wish by Big Brother and will have parts of JK Rowling’s latest book read to him by producers.

But they will only read to him pages of the book that divulge the twist, which main character dies and the ending.
