Jade: ’I wanted to die after BB’ - July 23 2007
Jade Goody has admitted that she felt so depressed after her disastrous involvement in the Big Brother race row that she contemplated suicide.

The controversial reality star said the only thing holding her back was thinking about her two young sons, Freddy, two, and Bobby Jack, four.

Jade, 26, reveals the full extent of her troubles to Piers Morgan in BBC1’s You Can’t Fire Me I’m Famous.

In her first TV interview since the spat with Shilpa Shetty in the house, Jade says: "I had bad depression. I was on sleeping pills and on suicide watch.

"It’s the worst thing a mother can say, ’There’s no hope’. But I snapped out of that quickly because I’ve got kids and they are my life."

Jade admits that she has struggled to find work since the show aired in January, and that she worries about paying the bills.

She adds: "I’m not doing this to be back in magazines or TV. But I’ve got a mortgage and bills to be paid."

Jade says that she might have got her temper from her mum, saying: "You learn from your parents. Mine weren’t the best."

The show is on BBC1 at 10.35pm, Tuesday July 31.

Church Reassures Jade - July 10 2007
The Church of England has moved to reassure Jade Goody after she expressed fears that a recent miscarriage was "God’s punishment" for her behaviour.

The star was 12 weeks pregnant when she lost the baby she was expecting with boyfriend Jack Tweed.

It came months after the Celebrity Big Brother race row which saw her vilified for her treatment of Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty.

"After the miscarriage I did ask: ’Why is all this happening?’ I thought it was God’s punishment for something I’d done," Jade, 26, told Closer magazine.  But her comments prompted a response from the Bishop of Croydon.

The Rt Revd Nick Baines issued a statement saying: "Jade Goody can be sure that losing her baby wasn’t a punishment from God.  "God doesn’t punish people. He stands by them and shares in their suffering as we see in Jesus Christ."

Jade, who has two sons, had hoped for a girl.  "I dreamt of having a girl and even secretly imagined dressing her in pink," she said.  "This year it’s been one thing after another. But after losing the baby I thought I’d never recover."

Jade’s career nosedived after Celebrity Big Brother.  She told the magazine she has "no one to blame but myself" for her problems.

"Last year, everything I touched turned to gold. My perfume was outselling the Beckhams’ and I was at the peak of my career, so I was probably due a tumble. I didn’t expect it to be so bad, but it’s made me stronger," she said.

Jade banned from driving - July 5 2007

The former Big Brother contestant appeared at Basildon Magistrates Court where she admitted driving her BMW car with a provisional driving licence on November 3 on the M1 motorway at Newport Pagnell, Buckinghamshire.

She also pleaded guilty to driving the vehicle otherwise in accordance with her licence and to driving with no insurance.

Jade, 26, pleaded guilty to two further offences of driving otherwise in accordance with her licence and without insurance on March 27 in Brentwood, Essex.

Biography

Big Brother’s most famous contestant was born in Bermondsey, where she worked as a dental nurse before becoming Britain’s favourite reason to stay in school.

Jade caused a tabloid frenzy the minute she walked into the BB house with her idiotic questions and unbelievable lack of common sense. She asked if East Anglia was near Tunisia and if Cambridge was in London, she took her clothes off to reveal her ’kebab’, administered the infamous PJ BJ and got a minging verruca.

The tabloids branded her a fat pig and she bitched about all of her fellow housemates openly but somehow she made it through to the final four and gained thousands of fans along the way. When Jade left the house, she was interviewed on any and every chat show in the country, appeared on the cover of Heat five times (she was even their biggest selling cover star) and even had a Channel 4 follow up documentary, What Jade Did Next, made about her in the weeks following her eviction.

Having dropped three dress sizes in matter of months, the Bermondsey girl made one of the most successful exercise videos ever, even beating skinny Geri Halliwell’s yoga workout effort to the top DVD chart spot. In the meantime Jade fell in love with Jeff Brazier, Shipwrecked’s Essex wide boy and became pregnant with her first son, Bobby. Jeff and Jade have been on an off ever since, but have recently opened a tanning salon and beauty parlour together following Jade’s qualification as a beauty therapist.

Jade Goody remains a reality TV show legend most recently appearing in Celebrity Wife Swap with Millionaire cheat Major Charles Ingram while heavily pregnant and hormonal and Back To Reality, Five’s flop Big Brother rip off in which Jade showed the nation she hadn’t learnt anything new, asking James Hewitt if he’d been ’sworded’ and if wood pigeons were like ferrets.
